Coral Reef Restaurant, the only spot at Walt Disney World where you can dine alongside a 5.7-million-gallon saltwater tank, is heading into a refurbishment this fall. Disney has confirmed the EPCOT staple will close on September 8, 2026, with reservations opening back up for November 4, 2026 — giving the closure a run of roughly two months.
Disney hasn't spelled out exactly what work is being done during the shutdown, but the timing fits the pattern the resort has leaned on lately: targeted, lower-season closures to handle maintenance or upgrades without pulling a popular restaurant offline during peak travel periods.
When Coral Reef does reopen, guests should expect the same experience they've come to know. The restaurant will continue operating on the dinner-only schedule it adopted on January 4, 2026, with seating starting at 4 p.m. daily. Lunch hasn't been confirmed to return. The Florida Coastal Cuisine menu stays intact as well — think Lobster Bisque, Grilled Snapper, Surf and Turf, and Shrimp Fettuccine, with kid-friendly grilled options and desserts like Key West Sunset and Pineapple Coconut Bread Pudding still on the list.
The dining room's signature draw remains unchanged, too: floor-to-ceiling windows looking directly into The Seas' enormous man-made ocean environment, home to roughly 2,000 animals across more than 60 species, including sharks, sea turtles, and rays. It's one of the more genuinely immersive dining settings anywhere in Walt Disney World, and the confirmed return date means holiday visitors now have a real window to book.
