One of EPCOT's most visually striking dining experiences is headed for a temporary closure. The Coral Reef Restaurant, located inside the Seas Pavilion, will close on September 8th, and Disney has not announced a specific reopening date — only that the restaurant is expected to return at some point later in 2026.
What makes Coral Reef stand out isn't the menu so much as the setting: floor-to-ceiling windows open onto the massive aquarium shared with the Seas with Nemo & Friends attraction, giving diners a front-row view of sharks, rays, sea turtles, and tropical fish while they eat. That one-of-a-kind setup has kept the restaurant on Walt Disney World bucket lists for decades.
This closure follows an earlier change at Coral Reef. Beginning January 4th of this year, the restaurant shifted to a dinner-only schedule, operating from 4 PM to 9 PM daily and dropping lunch service entirely. Disney never explained whether that adjustment was permanent or temporary, and the upcoming closure raises fresh questions about what the park has planned for the space. A routine refurbishment is the most straightforward explanation, though no official reason has been given.
