Florida has exactly one traditional wooden roller coaster — a coaster built entirely with wooden track and wooden supports — and it lives at LEGOLAND Florida. The restoration was no small undertaking. Cory Lytle, Technical Services Director for LEGOLAND Florida, recently joined the Coaster101 Podcast to walk through what the project involved, from the timeline and the repair of thematic elements to the deliberate choice to keep Coastersaurus a traditional wooden coaster rather than convert it to a different track system. The goal, Lytle explained, was to preserve that classic wooden-coaster feel for guests well into the future.
