COA’s River House in St. Augustine has announced its October schedule of classes and open programs, with offerings ranging from fitness, dance and art to technology help, fishing instruction and grief support.
Many of the multiweek classes begin the first week of October at River House, 179 Marine St. Registration is required and space is limited for those classes, including Mat Pilates, Tai Chi/Qigong, Spanish, watercolor, jewelry wire wrapping, golf fundamentals, music lessons and dance programs. Most run for three to five weeks.
Among the single-session and shorter offerings are a Healthy Living Course on Oct. 26, a Book Club on Oct. 7, Fish for Dinner: How to Clean Your Catch on Oct. 22, and a presentation from SJC Legal Aid about adding someone else’s name to a deed on Oct. 30.
The schedule also includes open programs that are usually free. Weekly options include Mahjong Open Play on Mondays, the Happy Hookers crochet and knitting group on Tuesdays, a grief-support gathering called Remembering with Love on Tuesdays, Widow to Widow on Wednesdays, and Open Game Play on Thursdays.
People with Medicare questions can reserve time with a SHINE volunteer for Oct. 12 or Oct. 19. One-on-one tech help for smartphone, tablet and laptop questions is available Oct. 13 and Oct. 20; participants should call ahead to reserve a one-hour appointment.
Course details and registration are available through COA’s River House course listings. Questions and reservations can be directed to River House at 904-209-3655, Monday through Thursday, or [email protected].
