The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant by Gwendolyn Rogers at Disney's BoardWalk is adding a new weekday happy hour, giving Walt Disney World visitors a different way to experience one of the resort's most talked-about dining destinations. The offering kicks off Monday, September 14, and runs Monday through Thursday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Rather than sitting down for a full meal, guests can head to the bar or bar lounge during those afternoon hours to enjoy a select menu of signature cocktails, wines, small bites, and a specialty Cake Bake Cake Shake. A preview of the upcoming menu suggests items like French fries and hamburger sliders alongside the drinks — a solid mix for guests looking for something lighter than a full lunch or dinner.

The timing works out nicely for the BoardWalk's geography. Situated along Crescent Lake between EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios, the area is a natural stopping point for guests looking to take a midday break from the parks. And because Disney's BoardWalk doesn't require theme park admission, visitors can pop in on resort days or slow afternoons without spending a park ticket to do it.

The happy hour could be especially appealing to guests who've been curious about The Cake Bake Shop but hesitant to commit to its full-service prices — some desserts on the regular menu run around $22. That said, exact happy hour pricing hasn't been announced yet, so guests will want to keep an eye out for the complete menu before making plans. It's also worth noting the Friday-through-Sunday exclusion: anyone specifically targeting this new offering will need to plan their BoardWalk visit on a weekday.
