Guests staying at Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge are dealing with a significant water service disruption that began around 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 8. Reports from affected guests describe extremely low water pressure throughout their accommodations and toilets that are unable to flush properly — making for far more than a minor inconvenience mid-vacation.
With the outage stretching into Sunday evening and no reported timeline for restoration, Disney began relocating affected guests to other Walt Disney World resorts, including Disney's Old Key West Resort and Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort. The company is also reportedly offering refunds or billing adjustments to impacted guests, including some who chose to remain at Boulder Ridge while repairs continue.
The disruption appears to be centered specifically on the Boulder Ridge Villas section — the Disney Vacation Club portion of the property — rather than the Wilderness Lodge complex as a whole. Even so, for guests in the middle of a carefully planned trip, an unplanned resort move means repacking luggage, rearranging transportation, and resettling into entirely different accommodations.
What makes this situation particularly notable is that it isn't the first major infrastructure failure to hit Wilderness Lodge recently. In June, the resort experienced a complete air-conditioning outage in its main building that affected guest rooms and two on-site restaurants for several days. Two significant back-to-back issues at a Deluxe Resort have understandably caught the attention of the Disney travel community.
