After roughly six months behind construction walls, Big Top Souvenirs at Magic Kingdom's Storybook Circus is starting to look like itself again. Guests have noticed that the blue construction barriers and protective plastic sheeting around the building's prominent red marquee have been removed, giving visitors their first clear view of the restored signage since the refurbishment began in February.
The shop and confectionery, which opened alongside the Storybook Circus expansion in 2012, has been a fixture near Dumbo the Flying Elephant for about 14 years. During the months-long project, crews tackled a wide range of work — including installing a new roof in June — before turning attention to the elaborate exterior signage. Rolling planters have now replaced the construction walls that once lined the walkway.
Nearby, Pete's Silly Sideshow completed its own refurbishment and reopened in June, so Big Top Souvenirs is the remaining piece of Storybook Circus still awaiting its return. Disney has not announced an official reopening date, and interior preparations could still be underway even as the exterior comes back into view.
The refresh is part of a broader wave of updates across Magic Kingdom. Frontierland is undergoing significant transformation, Tomorrowland has seen multiple projects, and larger additions are planned for the future. Big Top Souvenirs stands apart from those changes — rather than replacing an existing experience, Disney is investing in restoring one that guests have enjoyed since the park's 2012 Fantasyland expansion.
