Walt Disney World has again changed its morning arrival procedure at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, giving guests broader access to much of the park before its official opening time.
Under the updated setup reported by WDWNT on September 27, guests can enter most Animal Kingdom lands ahead of opening rather than wait in a central holding area. Cast members are stationed at individual attraction entrances to scan MagicBands or park tickets and confirm which visitors qualify for Early Entry.
Disney Resort hotel guests receive 30 minutes of Early Entry at all four Walt Disney World parks. At Animal Kingdom, which typically opens at 8 a.m., that means eligible guests can generally begin entering at 7:30 a.m. Offsite and local visitors can explore the park or wait outside attraction entrances until regular opening, but they cannot join queues reserved for Early Entry guests.
Pandora – The World of Avatar is the exception. Before official opening, only guests eligible for Early Entry may enter the land; cast members check eligibility at its Discovery Island entrance. Other visitors must remain at the bridge until the park opens.

The change follows a July adjustment that moved non-resort guests from the Oasis, just beyond the main entrance, to Discovery Island. The newest procedure largely removes that traditional holding-area approach while retaining separate access rules for Pandora.
Guests planning an early Animal Kingdom visit should allow time for ticket or MagicBand checks at attraction entrances and note that Pandora access remains limited until regular park opening for those without Early Entry eligibility.
